Just like the Mandalika MotoGP in Indonesia, the 2022 trend will also feature another new race, namely the Finnish MotoGP at the KymiRing Circuit, 8-10 July. It’s just that when the Finnish MotoGP only has 2 months left, the circuit is still not ready to take part in the technical qualification of the racing circuit
Rumors of the Finnish MotoGP race will be spewed out based on the 2022 Motorcycle Racing World Championship calendar, the trend has begun to emerge. According to the site Crash.net, in the safety of the Safety Commission ahead of the French MotoGP race at the Le Mans Circuit some time ago, drivers began to question the safety aspects of the KymiRing Circuit.
One of the racers who questioned the safety aspects of the KymiRing Circuit was Suzuki rider, Alex Rins. “We talked a little bit about Finland. In theory, if we race there, then the track should be finished,” said Rins.
“Some drivers are worried because the track is very small. Some people say they only need first, second and third gear. But it’s the same for everyone,” he continued.
The Kymi Ring Circuit has signed a contract to host MotoGP in fact since July 2017. However, the Finnish MotoGP has only officially entered the MotoGP World Championship racing calendar in 2020.
Unfortunately, the event had to be canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The same thing happens in MotoGP 2021. As a result, the Finnish MotoGP has the potential to make its debut this year.
