Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti has confirmed that David Alaba and Gareth Bale are fit enough to feature in next week’s Champions League final against Liverpool. Real Madrid has just played their last match in La Liga 2021-2022. They drew 0-0 against Real Betis at the Bernabeu Stadium, Saturday (21/5/2022).
In that match, Real Madrid still couldn’t play David Alaba. Autria’s Alaba picked up a hamstring injury in the semi-final first leg against Manchester City last month. After facing Betis, Real Madrid will play Liverpool in the Champions League final. The two teams will clash at the Stade de France on Saturday (29/5/2022) next week.
Ancelotti gave a leak about the latest condition of Alaba. According to him, the Austrian defender will be fully fit to play against Liverpool in the Champions League final next week.
“Alaba will be fit for the final. We don’t have to take any risks tonight. He will rejoin the group on Monday and will be at 100%,” Ancelotti told the club’s official website.
“He hasn’t played in a long time, but in a game like this, the fitness aspect is not the only thing that matters, ability, and experience also play an important role.” Apart from Alaba, the Real Madrid coach also revealed the condition of Gareth Bale. The Welshman is also likely to be involved in the Champions League final.
“He wasn’t on the bench tonight because he wasn’t fit.”
“He wants to say goodbye to the fans here in the stadium. He has one last chance because he will be fit for the final.”
